The mission of the institute
理工数学研究所は、「数学を理工学に応用する」ことを念頭において、
数学の一般への啓蒙をミッションとしている。
The Institute aims to disseminate the attractive features of mathematics based on its application to the problems in science, technology, and engineering fields.
最先端科学や工学分野において、数学がどのように応用されているかに関する本の出版が主な活動である。
The main activity of the institute is the publication of the books treating mathematical basics and approaches in advanced engineering and science fields.
高校までは数学が好きだったが、大学に入って嫌いになったというひとは多い。
Those who loved math in high schools often came to dislike it after getting into the university.
大学の数学と高校の数学は、そんなに違うのだろうか？
