The world is becoming increasingly harsh, and this trend seems to be common not only in Japan but also globally, with division and inequality becoming more apparent. One of the causes of this may lie with universities. As a university staff member, what should we do and how should we do it going forward? I will explain in an easy-to-understand way, using staff development (SD), administrative organization, and faculty-staff collaboration as examples, and analyze how universities should move forward from present, past, and future perspectives.
